IAHD’s Accountant, Tito Donovan, Making a NYC Difference

“We Make a Living by What We Get. We Make a Difference by What We Give.”

The above quote from Winston Churchill conveys a worldly truism that applies to people who give of their own time to make a difference in the lives of others. Tito Donovan, IAHD’s Senior Staff Accountant, commutes daily from the Bronx to Tarrytown, where he works at his full time job in the fiscal office. Yet, he reserves energy and time to help others, and he is regular at the Bronx Public Library where he teaches English reading and writing to adult language learners. Most individuals in his learning groups are learning English as a second language, although occasionally, he might also have students who are native English speakers, whose life situations never allowed them to learn reading and writing skills. Whatever the circumstances, Tito recognizes that people come to his class because they want to improve their lives, and he is ready to help. IAHD is so proud to have Tito on his staff, and we value his commitment to helping.  As Tito explains, “You have to make a difference. It’s a simple as that.”
