A Deserving Tribute to the Past and the Present
Every spring, IAHD hosts its Annual Awards Dinner to recognize the individuals and organizations that have contributed to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as other humanitarian causes. This year’s event was even more special because it marked the 60th anniversary of IAHD’s formation. Special friends of the agency helped to produce a video, which featured Eddie’s nephew, Scott Singer, reflecting on what the agency meant to his family.
The honorees for this year also conveyed the impact that advocacy, commitment, love, good will and team work can have to make the world a better place for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Donors enhanced the fund raising efforts, and throughout the night, guests were able to bid on very special items with smart phone technology!
Congratulations to Harriet Taub, Materials for the Arts (Humanitarian Award), Frank Micalizzi, Regional Director, M & T Charitable Foundation (Corporate Excellence Award) and Mary Bonsignore, Parent Advocate, Co-Founder Services for the Developmentally Challenged (Lifetime Achievement Award.) We are grateful to all IAHD staff, friends and family who have helped us, over all these years, to provide quality services and supports.
